Canyonlands National Park is known for its dramatic desert landscape carved by the Colorado River. Within the Island in the Sky district of the park, one of the most popular viewpoints is the Mesa Arch. Here, photographers and sightseers alike gather in the early morning hours to catch a glimpse of the sun rising through the arch.

My favorite memory of Zion National Park is hiking to the top of Observation Point. Not because I enjoyed the steep switchbacks or the narrow pathways that seemingly hang off the side of a cliff, but because when you finally reach the top and peer down over the edge, all the sweat and aching muscles are forgotten.
